About this tool
This tool reads your Word document's content — headings, paragraphs, formatting, lists, tables, and images — and renders it into a PDF directly on your device. Because nothing is uploaded, it works just as well with confidential or personal documents as with anything else.
For most everyday documents (letters, reports, resumes, articles) the output is faithful to the original. Very complex layouts — precise multi-column designs, custom headers and footers, or unusual styling — may render slightly differently than they would from Word itself, since browser-based rendering uses a different layout engine than Word's own. If exact layout fidelity matters for a particular document, this page also offers an optional higher-fidelity server-based conversion.
Common uses include turning a resume or cover letter into a PDF before submitting it, converting a report into a format that displays identically on any device, or preparing a document that shouldn't be easily edited further.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my Word document uploaded anywhere?
- No — by default this runs entirely in your browser. An optional server-based mode is available for higher layout fidelity, which does upload the file for that conversion only.
- Will the formatting match exactly?
- Very closely for typical documents. Highly complex layouts may differ slightly from Word's own rendering — use the optional server-based conversion if exact fidelity matters.
- Is this really free?
- Yes, completely free with no sign-up and no limit on how many times you use it.
